With a very straight face she asked, ‘Why do you Muslims kill people?’ I felt like I didn’t belong in her life, and I was being labeled as something that I’m not. I always felt like I was a part of a group and was welcomed even though I am from a different country, but from then on I began to feel more like an outsider.”
