The ball bounces right to senior Keith Ricks, who banks it into the net for another goal. Ricks has played four of his eleven seasons with the school soccer team. He started his soccer career because his mother wanted him to stay out of trouble and his friends encouraged him to get involved.
He currently has nine goals and four assists in the season, averaging one goal per gam. “I have greatly improved since joining the school team and glad I joined because it is a lot of fun,” said Ricks about his experience here. “Travel is more intense and demanding, but the atmosphere at Washington-Lee is fantastic and I enjoy playing with most of my friends.”
The team is close to wrapping up the season and Ricks has put some thought into his future. He plans on attending Longwood University and is going to continue his soccer career there. “I want to go as far as I can into soccer,” he said. “My inspiration is Josie Altidore, a USA soccer player, and I enjoy watching the Liverpool soccer team.”
