The critically acclaimed film, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2,” premiered in Los Angeles on Monday, November 16 and to the rest of the United States on November 20.  According to Box Office Mojo, the first movie of The Hunger Games trilogy, “The Hunger Games,”  grossed more than $150 million on opening week.

In comparison, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” grossed more than $100 million on opening week.  “I went to see all four Hunger Games movies and “Catching Fire” was by far my favorite,” freshman Hallie Kowalski said. “I absolutely love how they display Katniss on fire!”

The newest movie sparked various reactions from people.  Many were shocked how the movies progressed, while others thought it was the same most of the time.  “I read all the books and watched all the movies, but I have to say I don’t think “Mockingjay Part 2” was nearly as good as the book was,”  freshman Hallelujah Daniel said.

According to Internet Movie Database (IMDB), The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 was rated a 7.1 out of 10 and was ranked number one on opening week as reported by Box Office Mojo. “I think Lionsgate did their best work with the final movie of the Hunger Games trilogy,” sophomore Nell Curtin said.
