“Art inspires me because it allows us to use self expression. It’s a medium where people’s differences are praised and where uniqueness is valued and I feel like here at WL especially we’re all so different, we’re all so special and we take those differences and apply them to different things and I think that’s the great thing about art--it makes us all beautiful.”

“What inspires you?”

“One of my greatest inspirations comes from my grandmother on my mother’s side. Just talking to her and hearing stories about her life makes me realize how hardworking and brave she was at such a young age. Her struggles taught me to be thankful for everything I have.”

“I started gymnastics at Barcroft when I was two because of my big sister. She took a few lessons, and I decided I wanted to do the same. It’s always kind of been a part of me. I’ve grown up there, and I’m there almost every day of the week. All the coaches and kids there have kind of become a second family, and it's really natural and home like. I teach the kids there as well. They don’t try to be inspiring, but it’s nice knowing they always look up to all of us coaches, and it really makes my day. They also never fail to say cute and adorable things.”
