Established in the fall of 2018, Call Your Mother has been widely recognized on the internet in recent months for its “Jew-ish” food and social media pages. The Jewish deli is known for its fun bagel and cream cheese flavors. Originating in Park View, Call Your Mother has several locations across the D.C., Maryland, Virginia and Denver, Colorado. While their most popular location is their one in Georgetown, it has just recently opened. Call Your Mother is adding many new locations. One of them, including Arlington! This store will be opening soon.

Call Your Mother is recognized for its creative bagel and cream cheese flavors, as well as its drinks and bagel sandwiches. These bagel flavors include cinnamon-raisin, pretzel, maple salt and pepper and cheesy garlic bread . Some unique cream cheese flavors include strawberry swirl, candied salmon, garlic-herb, and roasted veggie. Their menu was carefully curated by chef Daniela Moreira, a co-owner of the store, who wanted to include the idea of New York and Montreal-style bagels on their menu

Not only did Chef Moreira want to include different bagel styles, but she also wanted to collaborate with her co-owner, Andrew Dana, to include cuisine tied to Dana’s Jewish culture. The menu features classic Jewish cuisine like latkes and babka muffins, a “hybrid” pastry made with yeast babka dough (very similar to brioche) in the shape of a muffin, to create this unique dessert.

Along with fun bagels, like za’atar and yuca cheesy bread, Call Your Mother is also constantly helping the community. Call Your Mother partners with organizations like Martha’s Table and Food Rescue in D.C. to help try to decrease hunger in the area. On top of that, Call Your Mother uses their social media platforms to raise money and awareness for these programs.

To taste these bagels, you can go to Call Your Mother in D.C., Georgetown, Park View, Old Town Alexandria, Vienna, Mclean, and soon in Arlington. The exact addresses and hours are on their website.
