After spring break, the school’s girls lacrosse team started the season 0-5, and the captains and players are focused on improving team chemistry and staying positive as they move forward.
The team believes they have the skills to win, but they need to connect better on the field. Some of their games have been close, showing they are not far from getting a win.
“We know that we have the skills on the team to have a successful season, but we haven’t really been clicking as a team,” senior Evie Price said. ”Players say they are working on team bonding to fix this. We [have done] more team bonding activit[ies].”
Defense is also focusing on communication. Players have been spending more time together and engaging in team bonding to build stronger connections, hoping it will help during games.
“We’re focusing on bringing that [communication] through all sections of the field,” senior Tosca Philippone said.
Captains say staying calm during games is another big focus for the team.
“We’re improving our composure when we play,” senior Julie Hamilton said. Even with losses, the team is still trying to keep a good attitude and support each other.
“I’m just trying to have fun, positive vibes,” Philippone said.
The team is hoping that by working together and staying positive, they can start winning games soon.
“We’re gonna make a comeback,” Price said.
