In the dusty desert of Southern California, every year is arguably one of the most iconic music festivals of all time. This festival is, of course, Coachella. Since its founding in 1999, it has become a status symbol just to attend. Now, it serves as a venue for some of the trendiest fashion and beauty companies to showcase their latest pieces, to the point that it has been dubbed the influencer Met Gala.
Some outfits stood out for their exceptional style or for their energy, matching the artist wearing them. However, others did not quite hit the mark. During Coachella 2026, experimental fashion was prominent on the clothing scene. Most Coachella fashion centers around three main aesthetics: modern cowgirl, dreamcore and maximalism. Modern cowgirl takes cues from old-style cowboy looks, from leather to fringe to high-cut cowboy boots. Dreamcore is almost the polar opposite, including tulle, pastel colors or fairy-like accessories. Maximalism is somewhere in the middle, featuring bright neon colors and layered patterns. Each of these aesthetics is consistently featured at Coachella, and this year is no different.
Best Coachella Outfits 2026
With KATSEYE’s new release ‘Pinky Up’, they went full pink with their fashion choices. The outfits were jarring, yet somehow visually complementary. Each member of the girl group wore different variations of neon pink, blue and purple. Member Lara especially stood out for her purple cut-out tights paired with black calf boots.
Artist Fuji Kaze has strayed entirely from the traditional maximalist look, in not a bad way ,either. His outfit featured a balloon-sleeved shirt and baggy bubble pants with a yellow tie belt. It was simplistic, but pulled off the minimalist aesthetic well.
Laufey went full dreamcore with her ballerina-style white dress. It perfectly matched the energy of her performance: full romantic drama. The tulle dress was full-length and paired with ballet flats, giving full “Cuckoo Ballet (Interlude)” energy. Simply put, she dressed like an angel for this performance and delivered the whole show.
Week one headliner Karol G stunned with her vivid fashion choices. All three of her show outfits were spirited, to say the least. Her first outfit was a two-piece gold set with dangling pieces on the top and the bottom. The color complemented her and her performance so brilliantly. The second was a long-sleeve neon-blue top paired with a red, blue and yellow skirt and knee-high blue boots. The cohesion was notable and beautiful. The last outfit was a nod to her Colombian heritage, featuring a white two-piece and red, blue and yellow puffy armbands. Each outfit was more beautiful than the last and complemented her performance effortlessly.
Last but not least is Sabrina Carpenter. She is known for her fashion sense and this Coachella was no different, with her outfits consisting of five custom Dior dresses. While each one was stunning, two that stood out the most. The first was a pink sequined dress with draping chiffon sleeves. The color complimented the vibrancy of the performance and as her energy. Second is her white lace and silk bodysuit, which was paired with a veil and her signature platform boots. It brought not only a bridal aesthetic, but also highlighted her signature 70’s style.
Worst Outfits of Coachella 2026
While maximalism might not be everyone’s favorite, neither was the polar opposite: Justin Bieber in 2026. The star wore a simple black T-shirt, long denim shorts and yellow socks. The performance was underwhelming and matched his outfit. The monochrome black outfit, except for the socks, left the singer looking crow-like.
Pink Pantheress’ performance was stunning; however, the same cannot be said about her outfit. Her red bodycon dress looked simple and, therefore, appeared more suitable for an attendee of Coachella, rather than an artist. Her other outfit, neon blue capris with a blue and red bow top, was underwhelming and did not match the excitable energy of her show.
The next artist, floweroflove, has a very relaxed musical style, but this did not translate to her show outfit. She wore a short yellow bodycon skirt. Compared with her music, it seemed garish and did not match her energy during the performance.
Lastly, Addison Rae’s performance was shocking and so was her outfit. The outfit itself was fairly standard for Coachella: a white mini dress with a tulle skirt and striped pink and black sleeves. However, it was the addition of a money boa that made it unusual. The boa felt unnecessary and distracting compared to the rest of the white outfit. However, her outfit during her guest performance with Olivia Rodrigo was very on point and fit her style much better than the other outfit.
